Clockheart Boy
When a boy with no heart is washed ashore, the Professor and his creations vow to bring him back to life. Clockheart Boy learns with wide-eyed wonder the joys of stargazing, dancing, romance and friendship. Yet he soon discovers that a shadow lies over this secluded castle, in the form of the professor’s young daughter who disappeared some years before.
This original fairytale explores the destructive effects that grief and love can bring; meditating on death whilst fizzing with life.
Premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe, 2008. Dumbshow’s popular family show then had multiple revivals, culminating in a UK tour in 2012.
